Pressure sores
Pressure sores is a damage to the skin and/or underlying tissue that usually occur over a bony prominence as a result of pressure, or pressure in combination with shear and/or friction. Pressure ulcers occur due to pressure applied to soft tissue resulting in completely or partially obstructed blood flow to the soft tissue. Although often prevented and treatable if detected early, pressure ulcers can be very difficult to prevent in critically ill people, frail elders, individuals with impaired mobility such as wheelchair users.
In our research on skin conditions, we tested people with pressure sores.
However, the skin is more than damaged. Traditionally Tamanu-Oil has the ability to form new tissue, however, the effect of Tamanu-Oil and pressure sores has not been tested in many scientific research.
That is why we have started multiple research, which means that we will share this information with everybody.
In our team of scientists, there is still insufficient evidence gathered how effective the oil is in the event of Pressure sores.
We see a slight increase in pain lighting.
